Brian O’Rourke is best recognized as a basketball coach, but was and still is a great supporter of all Glendale events. A true Glendale ‘patriot’, O’Rourke continues to recognize the importance of students being involved in their school as a method of taking ownership. The Brian O’Rourke Award for Outstanding Contribution is presented annually to a student or students who have participated in a variety of clubs and as a result, have earned a high number of activity points. O’Rourke (front, centre) was on hand Thursday during Glendale’s awards assembly to present Sarah Sandor (left) and Mimi Tran (right) with their awards. In the back row, (left) are Faith Brown, who received the Glendale Live Out Loud Award; and Steven Dodd (right) who won a Safe School Award, along with Hanna Brunklaus (absent from the photo).
