The Tillsonburg Library is pleased to welcome a new staff person to our team! Becky Stark has joined us in the role of Children’s Services Program Coordinator and will soon be out and about promoting the TD Summer Reading Club in the community. She is looking forward to running some creative and fun programming for Tillsonburg youth in the coming months. Next time you’re in the library, stop by and welcome Becky to Tillsonburg!
The library got fancy on Thursday, May 23! We celebrated the beloved storybook character Fancy Nancy by holding a Fancy Nancy Party! Our partygoers, dressed in some of their most lovely outfits - including tiaras and feather boas - enjoyed reading Fancy Nancy’s stories, customizing picture frames, and creating colourful tissue paper butterflies. On Friday, May 24, the library held an open house to celebrate being selected as a recipient of a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. This grant will allow us to provide additional materials, computers, and furniture for the renovated space, and we couldn’t be more thrilled!
Local dignitaries, including MPP Ernie Hardeman and Mayor John Lessif, along with member of the Oxford County Library Board and CEO Lisa Miettenen were on hand to receive a plaque from a representative of the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
Patrons are invited to visit the library and check-out the floor plans for 2 Library Lane and see some visuals of the interior, including seating, shelving, and more! We are very excited to get back to our renovated space in July!
