Man facing drug-related charges

A 65-year-old Norwich man is facing several drug related charges after OPP officers executed a warrant and found more than 300 marijuana plants.
At about 11:30 a.m. April 28, members of the Oxford OPP, Elgin County crime unit and London South Drug Enforcement unit executed a search warrant at the address of 364988 Evergreen Street, Norwich.
A total of 317 marijuana plants were seized, with an estimated value of more than $50,000.
Charged is John DeVries, 65, of Norwich, with production schedule II of the controlled drug and substances act, and possession for the purpose Schedule II under 3 kilograms under the controlled drug and substances act.
DeVries was released on a promise to appear on June 10.
