The Chairs of the Board of Directors of Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital (TDMH) and Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll (AHI) have announced via a press release, approval of a Joint Venture Agreement for the purposes of identifying implementation and operating integration and common initiatives.
There has been a consistent history of collaboration and partnership between the two hospitals, with the implementation of the shared CEO role, as well as other shared positions. This background is expected to provide a solid footing on which to grow and develop enhanced health care delivery, efficiencies, innovation and solutions for the local health system, stated the release.
As well, both hospitals will continue their goals of enhancing safe, quality, accessible healthcare for patients in the communities served.
“The hospitals will be working together to accomplish a seamless system for the care of the patients we serve as well as the needs of our community,” said Duaine Nelson, TDMH Board Chair, via the release. “Both organizations have a lot of work ahead of us and the agreement will enable the hospitals to continue to work together to plan the next steps to best serve our commitment to integration and enhanced patient care.”
“The Joint Venture Agreement is another significant juncture in the evolution of hospital care in our communities and the Hospitals will focus on advancing the strategic plans of both organizations,” added Steve Tait, AHI Board Chair in the release. “Both hospitals have already adapted a culture of collaboration that has enabled us to realize important improvements in health care delivery and will continue to build and enhance these initiatives.”
This initiative has come to fruition after months of planning and significant input from the Southwest Local Health Integration Network.
