Industrial accident takes one man to hospital

Elgin and Oxford County O.P.P. and EMS workers were called to the scene of an industrial/farm accident at a nearby business Tuesday morning just before noon.
A 60 year-old Bayham Township man was transported to the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital and then transferred to the London Health Sciences Centre after being seriously injured in an industrial accident late Tuesday morning.
“There was an individual that was just taken to hospital from the scene,” said Elgin O.P.P. sergeant Aaron McClure. “We’re currently investigating right now to determine the circumstances of what happened.”
The incident occurred at 11:40 a.m. at the Willow Hawk Farm Inc. business located on Carson Line in Bayham Township.
The 60 year-old male employee was working inside a grain silo when he came in contact with a grain auger and was seriously injured.
He is currently listed in serious but stable condition.
The Ministry of Labour is currently on scene investigating the incident.
