Stations of the Cross an Easter highlight

Article content

We are back to school after our Easter holiday. Mrs. Thompson's Grade 7 class did an excellent job portraying the Stations of the Cross on Thursday, March 28th. We thank Mrs. Hanley and the students from St. Mary's High School who performed the Via Dolorosa.

Both performances were done very well and they really delivered the message of what Easter is all about.  It reminds us why we should not only be thankful to God, but we should trust in Him as well.

On Thursday April 4th, Grade 8 students will be making their own rosaries out of clay with local artist Karina Viovy. These rosaries will be for their confirmation which is coming up on May 19th. Each student will keep their rosary, which will be blessed by Father Tom, as a reminder of their confirmation and ongoing faith.

Friday, April 12th is Wacky Hair Day! I have seen many wacky hair styles in the past years and I hope I see every student’s wacky hair this year!

Many memories are made every year at Monsignor O'Neil School. One of the best ways to hold on to your memories is by purchasing a yearbook. For only $15, each student will be able to look back at their years in grade school. Our yearbooks, complete with coloured pictures, will be available to order until May 16th. Also, if you are interested in any club or team photos which will appear in the yearbook, you can order those at the same time you order your yearbooks for just $3 each.

On the 16th we have special guest author Eric Walters coming to our school, and we are all exited for his arrival.  If you would like your very own signed Eric Walters book you can bring your Eric Walters book as well as get one signed from the book order we had last Tuesday!

Don't try coming to school on the 19th or else it will be very boring as all the teachers will be at a workshop, so for the students that means...PA DAY!  We students have no school, then after that... it’s the weekend so we have a three-day weekend coming up!

April 29th is the day the Grade 6 students go to the Ontario Police Collage. We all wish them a safe and productive trip!
