In the spring, a Tom turkey’s thoughts turn to romance – and fortunately enough for the health of the species, their singular combination of gobbling and strutting appears to be highly attractive to their opposite sex – and fascinating if a little strange to humans. Since a wildly successful live release program near Long Point in 1984, the Wild Turkey population has exploded, making this area truly a world-class one for both Wild Turkey viewing and harvesting. Members of this mixed flock were viewed exchanging the turkey equivalent of pleasantries including gobbling and strutting, Thursday morning. Jeff Tribe/Tillsonburg News
